Programming is the most productive way to establish community and foster individual development. Residence is a place where you learn about yourself, college, your community, and ‘life outside the classroom’. The overall purpose of programming in residence is to build strong, supportive, inclusive and vibrant communities while providing you with knowledge, skills, resources and opportunities to enhance your post-secondary learning. Our team of Resident Advisors and Residence Council are committed to organizing fun, interactive and informative programs and events throughout the year.
Here are a few program highlights from this year:
This event was collaboratively hosted by the Seneca Student’s Federation, Residence Life, and Residence Council. It featured teas from around the world, with explanations on each of the teas showcased and the cultures these teas come from. A live jazz band provided the music and entertainment. This was a great event to meet students from other cultures!
Residence Council hosted this event which allowed students to enjoy homemade pancakes at night as a great break from studying for exams. Students mingled and enjoyed some comfort food while taking a much needed break.
Ping Pong Tournament
This Residence Life facilitated event lasted three days and allowed students to showcase their ping pong skills with the winners being awarded some great prizes!
Residence Life collaborated with Seneca Security and Toronto Police Services to offer an informative session on student safety and what steps you can take to remain safe, and what resources are available if you feel threatened. This event was held in our cafeteria and students enjoyed a complimentary meal while receiving this important information.
Toronto Football Club Game
Students were transported by bus to BMO Stadium in downtown Toronto to watch one of the most exciting sporting events the city offers, a Toronto Football Club exhibition soccer match against a European team. Students cheers on the TFC team in a high energy atmosphere!
